Here are a few stories the shelter is proud to share, with the help of donations from volunteers and the community many pets have been given a second chance to find a loving home.
"BLUE"
This little girl was brought in as a stray to The Orange County Humane Society. The dog was reported to Animal Control that the pet had jumped from a three story apartment balcony. When the animal arrived she was in need of serious medical attention, and AAA Animal Hospital quickly provided the help she needed. A loving staff member was willing to provide her with a foster home and some much needed TLC. Once An owner could not be located OCHS started to raise funds for the surgery this poor girl needed. With the help of community donations the funds were raised in no time. Blue has now healed and has happily moved in permanently with her foster mom and now has a forever home.
"SONNY"
Sonny, a 10 year old Akita mix had come to our shelter as a stray staying for well over a year, with staff and volunteers growing more devoted in finding him a permanent home with each passing day. Sonny had been diagnosed with glaucoma that required medications and ultimately needing surgery that would relieve him of his pain. This tremendously brave hearted boy has been transferred to a rescue called New Beginnings that is joining the search for Sonny’s new home. The Orange County Humane Society had decided that Sonny may need a change in scenery and this could be the perfect opportunity in his exploration. We are so happy that Sonny has been given another chance at finding his forever home. If you are interested in Sonny please contact New Beginnings at www.greatpets.org for more information.
